This is my current commuter / beater / tarck / polo bike. I built it up around a 51cm Cayne Uno frame. The Uno is a budget steel frame with large rear drop-out guards; not that sexy but rock-solid.
Its got an FSA Pig headset and FSA crankset with a 42T chainring up front and 16t cog in the back; the rear wheel is a flip-flop for fixed or freewheel. The wheelset is a pair of Weinmann DP-18 deep-V rims laced to Joytech hubs with yellow Panaracer Stradius tires. The funky chunky stem is an adjustable Kalloy Uno, as are the purple anodized pedals, seatpost, chain, and handlebars which give the bike some budget bling. The side-pull brake calipers are Promax while the seat is a budget copy of the Selle Concor by CCM, the same model that I used on my first single-speed conversion.

This bike is fun and easy to ride, and would probably be great for fixie tricks (like bar spins) if I did any (I don’t). I originally built it for bike polo and have played once on it, but I’m waiting for the weather to warm up before I return to the polo pit. Right now it’s my ride of choice for hitting the clubs and bars, or commuting on days with when the weather or my mood is not right for my Fuji Track Pro.
I have a Bianchi Volpe and I want to put an adjustable stem on it because the drop handlebars are just too low. Do you know what size stem I’ll need? I would like to learn how to repair my bike and install parts on it, too. Did you learn a lot at Time’s Up? I live on 85 St in Manh. Where do you get parts for your bikes? Is it easy to do? I am intimidated about fixing and changing parts on my bike. That’s why I always go to the shop. But it’s expensive and they’re in it for profit, which is a good thing because that’s their job.
